We’re spoilt for choice for things to do in Cornwall at Easter! With plenty of wonderful outdoor activities and things to do for all ages, here are just a few ideas…

Easter at Via Ferrata Cornwall

Just a short drive away from Falmouth and Penryn, our remote 60 acre site full of historic quarries, heathland and woodland comes alive in Spring! From bluebell walks, to Easter treats in The Cornish Barista’s Café and some more adventurous activities like Via Ferrata, there’s something for everyone. With plenty to keep you occupied for a full day out and lots of free and great value for money activities to choose from, this is the place to be! Read on to find out more about our Easter outdoor activities…

Easter on a budget

Looking for Easter activities on a budget? We have free entry and parking and you could easily spend half a day here without having to spend a penny (though our profits support our charity BF Adventure, so any money you do spend will go towards helping vulnerable children!). Read on for inspiration…

1. Free: Enjoy the Spring flowers!

Bluebells in the nature trails at Via Ferrata Cornwall at Easter

If you love Bluebells then our dog friendly adventure nature trails are a must this Easter! With bug zones, a grassland area, woodlands and wildlife interpretation boards, they’re fantastic for families. There are also some great picnic spots (though with The Cornish Barista’s Café just around the corner, you won’t be disappointed if you go for a cheeky cake!).

The views are something else too! Our circular trail lasts about an hour and includes the Bluebell Woods and a 360 degree viewing point. For a longer walk, you can continue on to the bottom of the valley and join the public footpath to Argal Reservoir. Just a heads up though – these trails have an ‘adventurous’ side to them which makes them exciting, but also means they aren’t suitable for push chairs. You’ll need sensible shoes too!

2. Free: Wild play for under 10’s

If you have under 10’s, you could also spend some time exploring our muddy kitchen and wild play area, which has a climbing slope, swings, a slide and a covered seating area for parents to sit. Easter eggs crafted from mud, anyone?

3. Discounts for Locals and Blue Light Card holders

If you do want to take on our Via Ferrata challenge (an epic high wire adventure through our quarries with zip-lining), then we offer 10% off for Locals and Blue Light Card holders…read on to learn more about this adventure and others!

As well as sweet treats, the Cafe also does amazing lunches and uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

To top it off, 10% of their sales go to BF Adventure to support their charity work with children in need – win-win!

Food, Easter traditions and more!

This is a great way to soak up the atmosphere, have a feast or find the perfect Easter gift for your loved ones. The BIG Easter Market with Truro Farmers Market is definitely one to look out for!

2. Visit Spring Farm Animals

Are your children animal lovers? Now’s the time to go and see some Easter animals like chicks, lambs and bunnies! Cornwall has plenty of farms where you can see and stroke a whole range of animals and one highly rated family friendly attraction is Old Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan Bay. This is the place to come if you want to see lambs, cows and ponies, feed the animals and enjoy pony rides!

3. Try Easter Egg Rolling

Why not join in with the tradition of rolling decorated hard boiled eggs down Padstow’s Duke Street on Easter Sunday morning! As well as being super fun (especially for the kids!), this is always an important fundraiser for the RNLI.

4. Easter Adventure Quest at Pendennis Castle

You’ll get to explore the grounds to hunt for clues and challenges and discover traditional Easter games. Track down the Easter eggs and you’ll be rewarded with an adventurer’s certificate and a tasty chocolate treat! Check out the Easter Adventure Quest!
