Looking for watersports in Cornwall? Our family friendly paddlesports sessions include kayaking, canoeing and SUPing and take place in our stunning historic water-filled quarries!

Develop paddling skills and enjoy the hilarity of wobbling across pristine waters with our stand-up paddleboarding! We’ll teach you technique and safety so you can have fun exploring and trying out the different sports. Join us to make amazing memories, have fun and get close to nature!

Our watersports sessions

Our watersports sessions last 2 hours and are perfect for kids aged 6+ and adults. You can mix and match between stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing and sessions cost £25 per person.

Master the technique of paddleboarding! How long can you balance before taking a dunking?

Stand-up paddleboarding is popular for good reasons – it brings much needed fun and laughter as you watch your friends and family try and master the technique – with the help of our instructors of course! 

This sport is a great way to enjoy a challenge and you’ll see how relaxing it is once you’ve got the hang of it! You’ll also get to take in the beautiful scenery on our remote and peaceful site. Get ready to wobble and make some hilarious memories!

Practice your paddling techniques and escape to nature! 

Want to learn to kayak or hone in on your skills? You’re in the right place! We run through all the safety and techniques with you first before letting you explore our beautiful quarries! 

This is a brilliant way to develop your skills, whether you’re a complete beginner or want to make use of the calm water to perfect your roll! Once you’ve practiced your paddling techniques, why not put them to use and race against each other!

Try canoeing!

Venture out in our sturdy canoes to explore the nooks and crannies of our quarries…

Our canoeing sessions are great for building your skills and having a good old splash! Try and paddle in unison and perfect your steering as you make a day to remember. 

This is a brilliant way to build confidence in the water and try something different. Away from the busy crowds, our site is as relaxing as it can get! This is a great way to have fun, slow down and enjoy the nature.

Why choose our watersports?

Our paddlesports activities take place within the safe and extremely beautiful confines of our quarries. If you’re a beginner, that means nice calm water to learn in! 

Throughout your session, you can easily try all three watersports, so you can mix things up and find your favourite! 

We’re mad about watersports and want you to enjoy them just as much as we do! We’re dedicated to giving you a brilliant experience, which is reflected in our Cornwall Tourism Award.

Our friendly expert instructors consistently receive excellent feedback for their teaching and guidance. They’ll teach you safety and technique and be on-hand to ensure you have a great time!

Our team also teaches watersports to Cornwall’s most disadvantaged young people as part of BF Adventure’s charity work. All the profits from Via Ferrata Cornwall go towards these programmes, so you’ll be making a difference!

In addition to other activities on-site, we also have a Café serving amazing cakes, lunch and drinks! We’re big on using locally sourced ingredients and have lovely outdoor seating with gorgeous views.

Frequently asked questions

How safe are the watersports?
Our watersports are incredibly safe. As well as being in a sheltered quarry, all our instructors are fully qualified. We have also undertaken thorough risk assessments to ensure your safety.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
Since there is no wind or tide movement, we do not have any swimming requirements. 
What fitness level do I need?
We cater for all abilities and an average fitness level is needed. The weight limit is 110kg.
What’s included?
All the kit is provided, including buoyancy aids, helmets and wetsuits where needed. You can also store your belongings in our locker room. So, all you need to bring is a towel, spare clothes, old trainers for the water and swim wear. You could also bring your own wetsuit if you have one. 
Will the session get cancelled in bad weather?
Sessions still run in rainy weather and are just as fun!

Our watersports are also available for groups. These include private adventure sessions for family and friends, school and youth group trips, stag and hen parties, birthday parties and corporate away days.
